ℹ  Information: Meloe scabriusculusdescribed by Brandt & Erichson in 1832.
The body is black with a greasy shine and a faint bluish sheen.

Body length: 6 - 28  mm
Peak activity: March - June 


⚠  Remarks: A broadly distributed species across Southeastern and Central Europe, extending eastward into Central Asia. In the Pannonian Danube basin, it is commonly found in steppe habitats during spring. Further west, its occurrence is sparse and localized. It is a xerothermic species that inhabits lower altitudes in Central Europe. However, it also occurs in mountainous regions such as the Alps and the Caucasus, where it can be found at elevations up to 3,000 m a.s.l.
