Hycleus tenerus (Germar, 1834)

[= Mylabris tenera (Germar, 1834)]

ℹ  Information: Hycleus tenerus was described by Germar in 1834 originally as Mylabris tenera. 
Hycleus tenerus is small Eastern European species with western distribution reaching Austria. The elytra exhibit a broad yellow spot near the humeral angles on the reflexed sides, followed by additional yellow spots and transverse bands. Head and pronotum are shiny, while the elytra are finely shagreened and matte. Aedeagus characteristic.

Body length:   7.5 - 10 mm
Peak activity:  May - July  (depends on region)


⚠  Remarks: Hycleus tenerus occurs in the Pannonian Plain, mainly in sandy habitats.
