ℹ  Information: Anthracocentrus arabicus is an impressive species with marked sexual dimorphism. It has the largest range of the genus. It lives in deserts and semi-deserts in the Arabian Peninsula, the Middle East and North Africa.

Body length: 28 - 95 mm
Peak activity: June - October (November ~ December)

⚠  Remarks: In the Arabian Peninsula, the larvae of this species feed on the roots of living Prosopis cineraria trees, known locally by the Arabic name"ghaf". Adults hide at the base of these trees under loose bark and in various shelters near the ground. At night they are active low in the trees. Females are less common and have always been found on the ground near trees. The species is also often active on light traps.
